Site screening and diligence

Powered-site intelligence for the AI buildout.

Plug sources, scores, and ranks data-center sites on power, grid, permitting, land, and risk. Power, not chips, is the binding constraint.

Where power is hard to get

Getting power is the constraint. Here is where.

Nationally, most power projects that apply to connect never get built. Each county below is shaded by how many did, from real interconnection outcomes: green where the grid is open, red where it is gridlocked. Two sites can look identical on paper and sit years apart on power. Knowing which county you are in is the difference.

How Plug works

From every candidate site in the country to a ranked shortlist.

National screen

Every candidate site in the country is scored on power, grid, land, permitting, and risk, narrowing to a credible shortlist.

Site diligence

Each shortlisted site gets an evidence-backed dossier: interconnection, headroom, cooling supply, incentives, speed to power.

Ranked pipeline

A refreshable, explainable shortlist of powered sites, every score traceable to the inputs behind it. No black box.

Built for your scale

Scored to the size you are building.

A one-megawatt edge build and a gigawatt campus are different searches entirely. Plug scores each site against the load you plan to place on it, from one megawatt to two gigawatts.

Edge

1 to 50 MW

For Neoclouds, GPU startups, regional colocation, and operators repurposing existing sites for AI.

At this scale, power is rarely the constraint. Land, community, permitting, and connectivity decide the site.

You get a ranked shortlist of sites with a short path to power.

Distributed

51 to 100 MW

For mid-size developers, behind-the-meter and reuse strategies, and enterprise operators.

The mid-market, assessed on its own terms, not as a scaled-down hyperscale search.

You get a ranked shortlist plus a closer read on the sites worth pursuing.

Hyperscale

100 MW+

For developers, land bankers, and infrastructure investors siting campuses.

At campus scale, power is the binding constraint, and no site advances until its power is real.

You get deep per-site diligence on whether a site can carry the campus.

One standard across every scale, tested against real outcomes.

Why the ranking holds up

A site cannot average its way out of having no power.

In our scoring, power is non-negotiable: cheap land, incentives, and fiber never lift a site that cannot be powered. A pretty-but-powerless parcel never ranks high.

The blind test

Scored blind. Verified against history.

Ten publicly documented data-center outcomes, ten states. Inputs frozen to what was knowable at the time. The engine called all ten.

Both real winners ranked above all eight real losers. Unknowns were flagged, never guessed. Ten sites is a demonstration, not a statistical guarantee.

County index, live

The same engine, watching by county.

Every scored site rolls up into a national county index. The counties pulsing below rank in the top ten percent for power readiness nationwide, kept current as new sites come in.
